01 Introduction

The OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Business Management program helps students embark on a phase of acquiring specialized knowledge and skills of a manager. In addition to the theory and practical management functions of a business, students are also equipped with leadership skills, logical thinking, and argumentative thinking to support their work, self-study, self-improvement, or further education later on.

 

The OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Business Management focuses on leadership capability, human resource management capability, activities to ensure sustainable and stable business operation and management. At the same time, it equips students with business research skills, an important skill for a future business manager.

 

MI Swiss is proud to be the International Cooperation Institute of SIMI Swiss, implementing the Level UK Master's program group with recognition from the UK national competency certification and examination system.

 

Through the MI Swiss Institute for International Cooperation, fellows can participate in original programs and receive exclusive study support from SIMI Swiss, while also earning qualifications from partner universities. 02 Program Details

The program consists of mandatory modules, totaling 180 UK Credits, lasting a minimum of 1 years.

The program's central training philosophy starts with understanding the theory and case studies currently applied in world enterprises and then applies the learned knowledge to the enterprises themselves and the learners’ business environment. In addition to the practical knowledge, the program also equips the necessary skills for a business leader and manager in the volatile and risky global business context.

The program is Learner-centered and focuses on solving learners’ problems:

The Learner-centered training method will focus on solving learners’ problems through background knowledge and case studies that are applied in successful businesses worldwide. Through each module, learners will step by step solve management problems that they face every day with the guidance of the theoretical system, the practice system, expert lecturers and local teaching assistants.

Assessment and verification:

All subjects of the Level UK program are evaluated by MI Swiss, SIMI Swiss and the Ofqual UK.Gov Awarding Body OTHM. Learners must demonstrate mastery of knowledge and attain the competencies detailed in the program Syllabus.

03 Admission

In addition to the entry requirements, candidates applying to the program are also assessed for their suitability by the admissions committee before joining the program to ensure that they can acquire and benefit from the program.

Entry requirements:

To enrol this program, learners must possess one of the criteria below:

 

    • Completed high school, over 23 years old, and have at least 2 years of work experience; 
    • Or graduated vocational schools/college or completed 2nd year of Bachelor of Business Administration; 
    • Or attained a Level 5 Diploma under the NQF/QCF/RQF system or its equivalent.

English requirements:

 

If a learner is not from a predominantly English-speaking country, proof of English language proficiency must be provided.  

 

    • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2 or equivalent;
    • Or A minimum TOEFL score of 101 or IELTS 6.5; Reading and Writing must be at 6.5 or equivalent.

04 Learning Method

MI Swiss functions as an International Cooperation Institute of the Swiss Information and Management Institute (SIMI Swiss), established with the aim of providing learners with more opportunities to participate in Swiss programs in the context that SIMI Swiss's tuition subsidy programs have reached their maximum quota.

05 Progression Pathway

After completing the Level 6 Diploma in the UK, students have the option to progress to Level 7 (Master level) or transition to other education systems.

Note: Graduating from OTHM qualifies individuals for admission to universities directly partnered with OTHM. However, university applications are assessed on an individual basis, and additional entry requirements may be necessary based on each university’s specific conditions.

06 Transition from another program

In collaboration with APEL.Q (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Qualifications), the world's first experience-to-credit and diploma conversion system, students who are in the middle of studying in a peer-level program can can be considered for transfer to MI Swiss and partner university programs to save time and costs.

Candidate benefits:
    • Learners do not have to retake the subjects they have learned if the subjects have the same or similar Learning Outcome of the subjects that MI Swiss is implementing.
    • Reduced fees based on the number of transferable credits.
    • Reduced study and graduation time corresponding to transferable credits.
Applicable objects:
    • Students studying in other programs wish to transfer results to programs of MI Swiss and partner universities.
    • Students have graduated from an equivalent program who wish to save time and money to earn a qualification in another major.
Admission and Transfer Principles:
    • The program being accepted must be equivalent and within the same field of study.
    • Courses previously completed (with transcripts, results, or proof of study) must fully or partially correspond to the courses in the MI Swiss program and its partner university.
    • MI Swiss and its partner university reserve the right to determine (1) the number of credits to be transferred, (2) the fees to be reduced, and (3) the potential shortening of the program duration.
    • MI Swiss does not accept students from fraudulent universities.

07 Accreditation of OTHM

The program is accredited at the national level in the United Kingdom, recognized as equivalent to all education systems in the UK. Upon graduation, students receive a diploma that is part of the UK National Qualifications Framework, accredited and recognized by the Ofqual UK.Gov Awarding Body.

02 Is my Level 6 Diploma equivalent to a Bachelor's qualification?

Based on the UK national qualifications framework and the compatibility between the Level framework (RQF Framework) and the traditional university education system (FHEQ Framework), the Level 6 Diploma of the Level UK system is equivalent to the level of a Bachelor’s qualification in the UK according to the UK higher education framework.

 

According to the direction of the UK government, the Level 6 Diploma is implemented entirely in the direction of practical competencies, so there is no research phase. With the practical and applied orientation mentioned above, the Level 6 Diploma of Level UK will encompass all subjects of a Bachelor’s program but will not include research subjects and/or credits, resulting in fewer credits compared to a Bachelor’s qualification in the UK.

06 Who will be studying with me, and who are the instructors?

When implemented globally, Level UK exclusively collaborates with SIMI Swiss. Students pursuing the Level 7 Diploma will directly engage with SIMI Swiss and study alongside SIMI Swiss Master’s students.

07 How is the results recognition process carried out?

Level UK is a government-recognized program, so the results recognition process involves two independent assessments: Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and External Quality Assurance (EQA) for each course and training outcome.

 

IQA: After completing a course, students submit their assignments to the SIMI Swiss system, and SIMI Swiss instructors assess the results. Provisional results are then returned to the students.

 

EQA: At the end of the course, all results are sent to the UK for an independent evaluation. The final results will be recognized and awarded a qualification by OTHM.
